Educational project: "We're different, and that's good!"

This thesis deals with the cross-curricular theme of multicultural education and its use in teaching in the 2nd level of elementary Czech school. The aim of the thesis is to provide a theoretical treatment of the topic of multicultural education and its practical application in teaching. The text will present the educational project "We are all different, and that's good!", which is implemented in civics education lessons. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the main terms and didactic aspects of multicultural education. It focuses on the integration of this cross-cutting topic with civics education lessons in the 2nd grade of elementary school and provides specific multicultural education activities for teaching. The practical part presents a teaching project on multicultural education, which addresses the topics of culture, prejudices and stereotypes, values, and patriotism. The final chapters of this work are devoted to the implementation itself, its reflection and discussion. This teaching project has demonstrated the possibility of effectively connecting the topics of multicultural education and the subject of man and society.
Media education and literacy of future teachers of health education at the Fakulty of Education of Charles University

Master thesis Media education and literacy of future teachers of health education at the Fakulty of Education of Charles University deals with the issue of their readiness to teach this area in schools. The aim of the thesis was to find out to what extent students of the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Health Education are ready to implement media education in schools. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical definition of media education and literacy and related terminology. Furthermore, I have included in my work the historical development and gradual inclusion of this issue in Czech curriculum documents. In the practical part, using quantitative and qualitative methods, research was conducted with the participation of 34 selected students, which focused on the readiness of future teachers to teach media education in schools. The data arising from the questionnaire survey were graphically processed and commented. Furthermore, the views of four respondents on the issue of teaching on this topic are part of my thesis. The research revealed that most students had been marginally exposed to media education during their undergraduate studies, but felt this preparation was insufficient for their future teaching practice. Cross-curricular theme "Forest" and forest pedagogy as one of the possibilities of its realization

Cross-curricular themes are important formative elements of education. A forest ecosystem is an environment with great importance and potential, and knowledge of forest ecosystem, processes taking place in it and human activities associated with it can be included in many educational areas. By combining these two phenomena we gain cross- curricular theme "Forest". A possible instrument for realization this theme is the forest pedagogy. In the theoretical part of the work is the term cross-curricular theme delineated and defined in general and also specifically on the example of cross-curricular theme "Forest". About the forest ecosystem are given knowledge that contribute to spreading the results of forestry research and to modernization of teaching about the forest ecosystem at elementary and secondary schools. The forest pedagogy is introduced as an instrument that can significantly contributes to deepen the learning points about "Forest" and its presentation as cross-curricular theme. This thesis deals with the issue of media education and teachers who teach the class. The first part of the thesis is devoted to a theoretical definition of the cross-curricular theme of media education, its historical development and the gradual establishment of the topic in Czech curriculum and the subsequent introduction into schools in the form of a cross-sectional topic that concerns grammar schools and not only them. Attention is paid to textbooks, publications and Internet links and courses available to teachers. Part of the attention is devoted to the latest research on this topic. The research part of the thesis presents the results of my qualitative research, which outlines patterns of approaches, opinions and attitudes of media education teachers at selected grammar schools in South Bohemia. The thesis deals with the question of who are the teachers, who teach media education, whether they are already prepared for this topic from the university, or whether they had to educate themselves and what are their most frequent approvals. Only recent university graduates, unlike their older colleagues, have had the opportunity to become acquainted with media education in their higher education. Their older colleagues did not have it so easy and had to deal with this task and topic during their teaching. There are different views on media education among young and senior teachers. As a rule, every young teacher is enthusiastic and positively perceives the importance of media education.
Musical education of children of primary school age

Dissertation deals with cross-curricular theme and its implementation to education subjects at the first stage of elementary school with focus on Music. In the first part of dissertation concentration is put on the position of Music in Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and on requests concerning the implementation of cross-curricular theme as well as on current solution of the implementation of cross-curricular theme into a concrete school educational programme for Basic Education. The second part engages in proposition of implementation of some thematic circuits of cross-curricular theme into Music.
Environmentální výchova jako průřezové téma RVP a jeho realizace ve školním a mimoškolním vzdělávání

The diploma thesis focuses on the cross-curricular theme the Environmental Education according to the Czech Educational Programme. The aim of it is to show the implementation of the teaching about the current problems connected to the conservation of the environment in different segments of the Czech educational process. The first chapter deals with the Environmental Education in general - its characteristics, the interconnections with the other school subjects, the topics and the expected recommended outcomes. The second chapter describes the teaching of Environmental Education in the Czech Republic and in the selected countries of the European Union. Then it focuses on the didactic specifics of the Environmental Education and the means and methods of its teaching. The third chapter occupies with the changes in the perception of the nature and the selected current environmental problems of the present society. The fourth chapter deals with the topic of the natural upbringing in the nature, mainly in the 20th century. The fifth chapter analyses the implementation of the Environmental Education by the Czech association Junák český skaut, z.s. The sixth chapter suggests the application of the didactic games intended for the scout programme or different clubs with the environmental themes. It introduces the particular didactic games suitable for the implementation into the educational process and it also presents author´s own didactic game PET-life.
